HW Mixed Flow Pumps

The HW Series Horizontal Mixed-Flow Pumps are single-stage, single-suction, volute-type pumps designed for efficient transport of clean water or liquids with similar physical and chemical properties, at temperatures not exceeding 50°C. Combining centrifugal force and axial thrust, these pumps deliver an oblique outflow, making them ideal for high-flow, moderate-head applications. As an energy-saving product widely promoted in China's machinery industry, the HW series bridges the performance gap between centrifugal and axial flow pumps.


Installation & Maintenance Highlights of HW Mixed Flow Pumps

  • Installation: Can be floor-mounted or installed in a semi-drop well to reduce suction height and inlet loss.

  • Priming: Use the casing screw hole for water filling or connect a vacuum pump.

  • Lubrication: Oil or grease lubrication with clear level indicators; oil change recommended every 1000 hours or annually.

  • Inspection: Regularly check bearing temperature (max. 75°C), packing leakage, and impeller clearance.

The pump consists of a pump cover, impeller, volute casing, pump shaft, shaft sleeve, and bearing assembly (bearing body for diameters ≤350mm, bearing frame for diameters ≥400mm).


  • Shaft Seal: Packing, gland and packing ring prevent air ingress and excessive leakage (excluding 100HW, 150HW, and 200HW models).

  • Bearings: Single-row radial ball bearings lubricated via oil or grease.

  • Clearance Adjustment: Impeller-to-cover gap is adjustable (0.3–0.7 mm) via paper shims to balance efficiency and avoid friction.

  • Priming: Built-in screw hole on the casing for manual water filling or vacuum pump connection.


Transmission Options

  • Direct or variable speed drive compatible with electric motors or diesel engines.

  • Customers must specify power source type, power, and speed for correct coupling or pulley configuration.


Rotation Direction

  • Standard: Counter-clockwise (viewed from the inlet).

  • Exceptions: 650HW-5, -7, and -10 models rotate clockwise.
